Amigurumi Angel Baby
Materials: Worsted weight yarn, size U.S. D3 crochet hook, yarn needle, stuffing, and pipe cleaner.
Finished doll measures 6" tall.
General Tips & Techniques:
* Be sure to keep yarn tension firm and consistent throughout your work.
* At the end of each row, I have given the number of stitches you should have. This
is just a guide. If you are off by 1 or 2 stitches, donít worry about it. Amigurumi
is very forgiving.
Magic Ring:
Leaving a long tail, at least 12î, Ch. 4, join with sl st into first st. Work 8 sc into center
ring and around tail, do not join. Pull tail to close the hole in the ring. Tie tail to working
yarn (this keeps the hole closed). Mark beginning of row (piece of contrasting yarn or
paperclip works fine). From this point on, you will be working in the round

Row 1: Ch 6, 1 sc in 2nd
ch from hook and in each ch across. Sl st to end. Cut, leaving tail for sewing.
Pacifier:
Ch. 6. 1 sc in 2nd
ch from hook and in next 4 st. 3 sc in end st. Continuing down the
other side, 1 sc in each sc and 2 sc in the last sc. Tie off. Cut, leaving a tail for sewing.
Attach yarn needle to tail. Sew up the back into the 2nd hole from the edge and then
down through the 2nd hole from the other edge. Keep sewing up and down through these
2 holes approx. 6-8 more times until it resembles a pacifier. Sew pacifier where mouth
would be on face.
Finishing:
Eyes: You can use purchased safety eyes or embroider them. I embroidered mine with
brown yarn, just up and down around one sc a few times for each one and then tie off.
Ears: Position ears where you like them with a pin. Using the tail left on the ears, sew
each one to head. If you want a curved ear, use your yarn needle to go in and out the
stitches and gather it a bit before sewing on.
Hands: Using the tails left on the arms, sew hands to the arms, leaving both hands and
arms open (so that you can stuff all the way down the arms into the hands).
Feet: Using tails, sew each foot closed. Sew into position on body.
After sewing, you can use your yarn needle to feed the yarn and out the other side to hide
the end in the body.
Body: Finish stuffing arms, hands, and the rest of the body. Use remaining tail on the
body to sew it closed. Tie off, hide end up in the body.
Halo: Bend half the pipe cleaner into a circle and attach it to itself. Bend to shape. Cut
to size, and insert 2-3 inches into back of babyís head. Glue if desired.
